A fiúkat arra nevelik, hogy uralják a teret, hogy vállalkozó szelleműek legyenek benne…; a lányokat a mi társadalmunkban arra nevelik, hogy számítsanak a térbeli korlátozásokra, és fogadják is el azokat […]. Arra tanítják őket, hogy elfoglalják, de arra nem, hogy kontrollálják a teret […]. A térbeli viselkedés szándékoltan - szó szerint és átvitt értelemben is - a társadalomban elfoglalt helyükre teszi és ott is tartja az embereket.
